EURASIAN WOMEN’S COMMUNITY
Eurasian Women’s Community news agency (eawfpress.ru) is a non-governmental independent media founded at the Institute for the Humanities and Information Technologies with the support of its administration, personnel, and students. This is the only social media of federal coverage founded on the basis of a higher education institution. Students take active part in the web-portal’s activity as volunteers.
During 2 years of its operation, the web-portal published upwards of 1000 original articles. By 2018, over 1.5 million online users visited the web-site of the Eurasian Women’s Community. This a multi-language internet platform, which has its official English version. Location coverage of our readers is more than 100 countries. 38% of readers are from Russia, 25% - from Europe, 23% - from Asia, 14% - from the USA.
The main goal of the Eurasian Women’s Community is to create the image of a modern woman in the public conscience and demonstrate the new role of women in the world’s transformation.
Global Talents (globaltalents.ru) is an all-Russian web-portal serving as an internet platform designed to find and support talented schoolchildren in Russia. The project was put into practice by IGUMO students supported by the institute’s teachers and mentors. In December 2014, at the Press conference with President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin supported the idea to create a new-generation online platform to identify talented schoolchildren all across Russia.
Global Talents users are over 20 thousand schoolchildren from 85 regions of Russia. The project won the Presidential grant twice.
During the past three years, Global Talents hosted over 200 contests with 600 schoolchildren awarded as winners and thousands of nominees.
Global Talents provides blog section where its users publish their essays, photographs, and drawings, communicate, and think about art, science, and education.
DAYS OF CONTEMPORARY ART
Days of Contemporary Art festival (doca.moscow) is an ongoing project providing IGUMO students including artists, photographers, designers, and architects with an opportunity to acquire experience of participation in art exhibitions and to gain portfolio with their works. Students’ projects are exhibited at DOCA and supervised by professional artists. Serving as mentors, they assist students at all stages of project preparation.
IGUMO students have their own media. They publish Otkrytka newspaper, carry the radio broadcast of Cherdak radio station, promote institute’s accounts on social networks, shoot videos for YouTube, and write articles covering IGUMO news and projects.
