DESCRIPTION
‘Soviet Modernism. From: and To:’ is a permanent project carried out within Design training programme. It is dedicated to Soviet architecture of 1955-1985. The project is organised as a study finishing with an exhibition.
Today, the permanent exposition includes over 200 collection objects of Soviet graphic production of the mid-20th century including rare exhibits: booklets of the Brussels World’s Fair in 1958 and 1967 International and Universal Exposition in Montreal. This section of exposition reveals the sense of architectural events of the past epoch. Modern part of the exhibition is an attempt to view the Soviet period in architecture through the eyes of the new generation. Students of the Faculty or Design study and rethink that architectural epoch, create stamps, zines, and posters.
GOAL
Bringing up students’ skills of development, creation, and public presentation of their projects.
METHODS
Exhibitions, tours, lectures, workshops, discussions, and other means of creative communication.
EXPECTED RESULTS
Approbation of the finished artworks in the exhibition space, acquisition of organisation and communication competencies in professional area, and development of self-presentation skills.
