Students of the Faculty of Photography can receive the objective assessment of their projects from professionals within Portfolio Review held regularly at IGUMO. The project makes it possible to directly communicate with specialists, listen to their opinion about students’ works, and receive recommendations and opportunity to participate in professional large-scale projects.
DESCRIPTION
Portfolio Review is a permanent project carried out annually within the Art and Human Sciences training programme.
The project gives Photography students a unique opportunity to show their works to independent experts and discuss them in person.
Curators of different photographic projects, gallery officers, museum workers, functionaries of creative communities, build editors of printed issues, renowned artists and photographers, and other specialists are the project’s experts.
The invited experts are highly skilled people having authority in the professional community of photographers.
GOAL
Development of students’ skills of communication in professional area, opportunity to hear the objective independent opinion on students’ works at first hand, communicate with a number of professional photographers brought together in one place and time.
METHODS
Demonstration of students’ creative projects, individual communication with every experts within 20 minutes. This is enough to demonstrate, describe, and discuss a project, listen to an objective opinion about it, and receive recommendations for further work.
EXPECTED RESULTS
If experts find students’ projects accomplished and appropriate, invitation for cooperation and participation in different photographic events. Students also receive a powerful creative impetus from their communication with experts.Marina
