The Institute for the Humanities and IT is a dynamically developing institute of higher education. The administration of IGUMO expresses great enthusiasm. The innovative ideas are implemented here immediately, that’s why the process of the renewal is considered to be permanent.
This academic year there has been set up a unique and modern photo studio. It is supposed to become a professional ground for the students of the Design Department (college) that study Photography.
The photo studio is organic and functional. The whole area is divided into zones where the originality of any epoch can be shown. Minimalism prevails in the interior. The decisions concerning the organization of the work place were made with a motto «All genial is simple!» The décor of one of the sections is obviously modern, the décor of another is made like in old times, as if the walls say that they have been through a lot…
Of course, the packaging arrangement of the photo studio creates the unique possibilities for thorough training. Besides modern cameras with different lenses the photo studio is equipped with a complete set of Bowen’s monoblocks, the tripods for Manfrotto cameras, Westcott light discs, and white, grey and black background screens.
By the way, does anybody remember an outstanding movie «Avatar» with absolutely fabulous landscapes? Haven’t you given it a thought where on our planet the makers of the movie have found such landscapes? The answer is that during the process of making the movie new technologies were used and the shooting itself was made in front of an «empty» screen.
The students of the Design Department have been already convinced of it while making themselves at home in a new photo studio. This situation has been skillfully reproduced in his photos by P.A. Ivanov, Head of the IGUMO media group, Associate Professor of the Photography Chair of the Design Department.
The creation process is non-stopping: a person is reflecting the world around any time of the year and any time of the day. That’s why the possibilities of expressing themselves that the students of the Design Department have are definitely limitless. The main point is that they are inspired and willing to create!
