«The Continental Legal Family» was the issue of a regular debating session held by IGUMO IT Civil Law Center.
The participants of the discussion compared the two basic legal families – English-Saxon and Romano-German, and stated their basic differences. But it was not the comparison of the legal systems that was the main objective of the participants. The basic emphasis was made on the development of the citizens’ legal culture.
The faculty and the students of the IGUMO Law Department were involved into an informal and frank discussion on the values of a state based on the rule of law and stressed the fundamental nature and scientific validity of Russian Law.
