April, 4, 2012, the students of the IGUMO Department of Law took part at the regular intellectual game «Law Experts».
At the first round of the game the students had to answer 10 questions and some of them were really tricky. The score was kept accurate within a half of a point. As a result six teams succeeded to get the minimum number of points.
Let us call upon O. Kondratenko, jury member, Dean of the Department of Law, Ph. D. (Law), Associate Professor:
— The intense intellectual activity lasted three rounds and finished with practical solutions of the complicated legal tasks. As for me, intellectual game «Law Experts» unites at the tables of the Institute conference-hall not only common students teams of the Department of Law, but professional players with a good reaction and a good knowledge how to act at the legal debates. After the first round the best teams of the Department of Law continued their struggle. The team of girls of the 5th, 3rd, 2nd, and 1st years of study finished that round before the appointed time.
At the final round only three teams continued their intellectual struggle. The competitors didn’t want to concede their victory. The finalists showed their good legal knowledge and coped with the complicated legal tasks.
It is necessary to say that two legal moots which drew a wide response at the Institute helped with making decisions.
The results are as follows:
The 3rd team became the indisputable champion among the Law Experts; the 9th team got the second prize; the 5th team got the third prize.
The regular intellectual tournament has shown again: the Institute for the Humanities and IT trains well-educated professionals!
Special opinion of M. Volynkina, Rector of IGUMO, Chairman of the Jury:
— I am glad to say that the IGUMO Department of Law holds such serious events. Our students have an opportunity to check their knowledge and to feel responsibility being the participants of a real legal struggle. Such intellectual games prove the high rating of the students, demonstrate the proficiency of their knowledge and give the future professionals an opportunity to get into real legal debates when one should follow certain regulations, moral and ethic norms.
