March 10th, 2011 the Institute for the Humanities and IT hosted the next meeting of the Civil Law Center. IGUMO’s conference hall was overcrowded: the students of Law, Journalism, Foreign Languages, Psychology, Economics and Management Departments took part in the meeting.
Who are responsible for the contents of the private pages in social networks: the owners of network services or the users? Do we have the right to upload pirate audio records? How much responsibility do we bear for their use? This debatable question will be the point at issue at the session of IGUMO Civil Law Centre which will take place at IGUMO on 10th of March, 2011.
Who is authorized to use products of intellectual work (such as music records, for example) on social network websites (Vkontakte, Odnoklassniki, etc.)? On what grounds? Is it prohibited or not? – All those questions were an important part of the agenda.
Volynkina Marina, PhD (Law), Prof., summed up that any use of unlicensed music records infringes the Law and discriminates social moral values.
