In the first decade of October, 2011 there will be organized the Festival of Design at the Institute for the Humanities and IT. There is no age qualification for the participants. The jury is ready to have a good look at the works of mature competitors on conditions that the latter don’t have the designer’s qualification.
The topic of this Festival is «Ecological Design», its topical matter is natural. The Earth inhabitants should put up a united front for ecology!
The organizers suggest that the participants should work out one of the following projects:
1. «My Favorite Park» – is a socially important project of the park territory upgrading, including functional recreation, entertainment and children’s play zones.
2. «Comfortable Stop» – the main idea of this project is complete comfort during the time of waiting for your bus (trolleybus, etc.) even when your long-awaited public conveyances are «stuck» somewhere. The realization of the project should foresee adequate bad weather protection, the optimal lightening, the pleasant decorations, and etc.
3. «Convenient Car Park»— is the creation of favourable conditions for the car owners, who overcome dozens of kilometers in the heavy traffic, taking into consideration the wild Russian winters.
The significance of the project is defined by its uniqueness, complexity of offers along with the use of environmentally safe materials and technologies such as solar batteries, condensers, and also used materials which can become the ground for something new, original and useful. Furthermore, the new ecological design should perfectly blend with the surroundings.
The Grand-prize owners in one of these three nominations will get Certificate for free education at the IGUMO Department of Design.
