What’s unique about the International College for Arts and Communication? We asked Marina Volynkina, Rector of MKIK, about that. She told us about the MKIK atmosphere and the key differences of the college from other educational institutions.
MKIK Means Creative and Proper Communication Atmosphere
Every word in the name of our college has a large meaning because it reflects the content and unique qualities of the educational space.
It’s known that the space defines the consciousness. The development of people really depends on the atmosphere they’re in.
Our students get education from highly educated and intelligent institute lecturers. The process of education consists of theoretical and practical parts.
Students acquire professional competencies in creative atmosphere, which helps to create the conditions aimed at training the elite. To teach to learn is the main goal of our lecturers. And this is one of the most important unique features of our original system of communication of lecturers and students.
The educational process is based on forming an interest to learning. Projects in the field of culture and art play a big role in the method of teaching. They are actualized in every field of training of MKIK.
MKIK Is a Close-Knit Team
An effective educational process is only possible when the students feel part of a big and friendly team of like-minded people.
During the first year of studying, every first-year student participates in teambuilding trainings. That helps the students feel comfortable in the college.
All of the MKIK projects are developed in collaboration with the students of eight fields of training. Thanks to such pedagogical methods of joint project activities, students develop skills of teamwork with representatives of related occupations and learn to take into account opinions of their colleges.
MKIK Means Projects and Practice
All of our college students annually take practical training in real projects fulfilling serious professional tasks. Each faculty has its own partnering organisations.
By participating in project activities, the students develop not only professional competencies but also the ability to hear one another and work in team. The result of such work is a portfolio of the graduates filled with real cases.
One can learn about the MKIK projects on our college website.
MKIK Means Communication with Professionals
MKIK hosts workshops of representatives of different professional fields every Thursday. This interaction helps the students find out more important and valuable information about their future occupation, modern trends, and demands of the market.
MKIK Means Bright Student Life
The student life in the college is in full swing: the students take part nfestive concerts, put on plays in English, and work in creative workshops.
Students show their leadership qualities by participating in games (Charades, Alias, and What?Where? When?), esports tournaments, and bowling.
Volunteer activities are one of the important aspects of MKIK student life. The students work as volunteers at the Days of Contemporary Art (DOCA) international festival and the Patrium Summer School with great pleasure. They join unique social projects like the Federation of Blind Football Players, and UMIRA.
