The Linguistics College is a unique education institution where the students are trained for one of the most needed and vital occupations: an elementary school teacher. The defining characteristic of our college is in-depth one-aspect-at-a-time study of foreign languages. Traditions of the Faculty of Linguistics of IGUMO are used as a base for the linguistic education of the college students.
The graduates of the Linguistics College have at least an Upper-Intermediate level of their first foreign language (English). Senior students also study a second foreign language.
Projects
Practical Training at the Linguistics College
The students of the Linguistics College take practical training in every professional module of the educational programme. The bases for the practical training are given by the best schools, linguistic gymnasiums, and children’s clubs of Moscow and Moscow suburbs.
During practical training, the students improve general cultural and professional competencies actualized in soft skills and hard skills. The students analyze lessons of teachers, create plans and notes of their own lessons, host leisure activities with juniorschoolchildren, organise off-hour informative activities, learn to interact with teachers and parents, and work with methodological literature and documentation. Thanks to activities actualized during practical training, the students enter the modern labour market being most effectively prepared for relevant professional activity.
The students of the Linguistics College have an opportunity to get practical language training while participating in international projects of MKIK and IGUMO and also in internships organised by partnering educational institutions from Europe. The students visit open lectures of foreign specialists, act as volunteers at the Days of Contemporary Art (DOCA) international festival, international congresses, and forums organised by partners of MKIK an IGUMO.
